We have reorganized the local cache. When starting this update, the old cache will automatically be converted to the new format. The changes: - No more duplicates on your hard disk: If you insert a file into Wuala, Wuala won't copy the file into its cache anymore. Instead, it remembers the original file location and uses that file instead when accessing or uploading the file (as long as the original file isn't changed or removed). This saves lots of local disk space. Similarily, Wuala remembers the location of files you export. - More responsiveness when inserting files: generating thumbnails, encryption and hashing of newly inserted files is now done in the background and not interfering with browsing any more. - Pasting web links into Wuala now also works for large (>100MB) files. Many users don't know this, but you can paste any URL into Wuala (e.g. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3116/2297045198_b95105eeb1_o_d.jpg). You can also paste copied text, that's how I normally insert these changelog files. :) - No more local backups. - Performance: less disk accesses, faster access to locally stored data.
